The Leading

For my very first post, please let me say how grateful I am for a venue that allows us to share about our wonderful Savior, Yeshua, (Jesus) and the life-changing direction we are given that He calls the path of life.

The Spirit of the Lord has "taken me by the hand and led me to everyone I ever met, to learn something from."

When I say, Spirit of the Lord, I am speaking about Yeshua, the Living Torah, the greatest One I have ever had the privilege of giving my life to and being led by His hand. He is my Shepherd and I am a sheep of His pasture.

In a flock, there are also other sheep.  In any flock I have ever seen, sheep seem to all be peacefully grazing or lying down with one another.  I have never seen any commotion stirring in the field. Maybe they do but I just have never witnessed that.  If people are like sheep, then maybe there is something to their behavior and relationships that we can learn with our relationships with one another.

I believe we can learn from everyone we meet, no matter who they are.  Hasn't it always been and will be about relationships with others?  Some are easy, some take time, some you wish you had never met.  But each and every one can be that little piece of what was missing in the puzzle of your life.  We all need each other, and some might need you more than you need them. If that's the case, then let's share with each other and graze on God's good Word, peacefully.

Remember in the Exodus, the Lord spoke to Moses.  Moses shepherded Israel out of Egypt and into the Wilderness.  When Moses died, Joshua was chosen to lead Israel into the Promised Land.  I see Moses and Joshua as the shepherds and Israel as the flock. The Lord was the great Shepherd over them all.  Even though there was a lot of grumbling and complaining throughout that 40 year journey, the Lord was faithful to provide for them.

Relationships are not easy, this path of life is not easy, many tests and temptations, circumstances and problems can really stop us in our tracks sometimes, but if we can keep our focus on the Lord and how He wants us to behave we will stay on the right path.  A path that leads to life, a path that can be followed by our children and our children's children.  Isn't that what it's all about anyway? Let's lead!

  1. Love your blog. I love the parable of the good shepherd. It is funny that just yesterday at Church a friend said he was traveling up North with his family and he saw a man standing along the highway with his back to the highway looking out over a meadow. My friend turned his car around and went back to see if the man needed help. What he found was in the meadow was about 200 head of sheep and this man was looking after the sheep. He had placed himself between the danger of the highway and meadow to make sure the sheep were safe. My friend asked this man if he believed the sheep knew his voice and the man said not all of them. But the ones who know my voice I place a bell around their neck, and the other sheep follow the sound of the bell. Sorry to take so much time with this but I thought it was a good lesson. Love the Blog. Keep it up. Your Brother-in-law Steve.

    1. Wow, Steve, that is so cool! I was moved by the sound of the bells so no sheep gets left unprotected. Thank you for your comment!

  7. This really made me think in regards to the whole (The sheep who knew his voice, he placed bells on so the others would follow),obviously made me think of [Jhn 10:27 KJV] 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

More than that it also made me think of the wise and foolish virgins, like the sheep with the bells and the sheep who did not learn the shepherd voice but followed only the noise of the belled sheep. I could see the 10 virgins were like the sheep those who had the oil (bells) and heard, were prepared to follow the Shepherds commands, those who followed after and wanted the oil are like the sheep who follow the bells with out fulling learning to hear the Shepherds voice. May be digging here but this is what it brought to mind. Also the discernment of whose clanging bell are you following?
